I chose to give this 5 stars because its complex but not confusing. You can follow the storyline very well, yet you get more details to understand the world. The characters are detailed but not overwhelmingly so. You get your human emotions like insecurity, happiness, love, anger etc. The men and the MC have their conflicts yet find ways to work around it. The author sucks you in and you can imagine the world and people as if you're really there. Loved it!!

Going on the Gulf Breeze Mistress of the Seven Seas edition by Sarah Louise Romance eBooks Reviews

I loved the idea behind this story, I loved the characters, and I really wanted to love this book. However. The storytelling was lackluster. Between the editing errors, and the lack of character development, the writing just didn’t flow well. A character reacts and it feels like the author is playing catch up to explain why the reaction happened. It just didn’t move naturally.

As a reader, I want the characters to reveal themselves to me. I want to get know their personalities as I read about their adventure. For example the MC in this story says she has self esteem issues. From there, any bad reaction she has in her relationship is chalked up to “well. Remember. I told you I have self-esteem issues.” But we never see that color her thoughts. She doesn’t seem to struggle with a whole lot of self doubt (accepts her role as savior of the met without a whole lot of problem), she has no problem believing her Callings or her parents when they tell her she’s beautiful or special. So. She says she has a self-esteem issues, but where in her personality is it actually evidenced??

I see a lot of potential in this story, and I’d LOVE to read an edited version with the characters and the plot MUCH more fleshed out.
I really wanted to like it but there was so much wrong with it. First, what's with the formatting problems? It broke off mid sentence to go to another paragraph throughout the entire book. It was extremely distracting. Second, Rowena is annoying. It's always, "they don't like me cause I'm not the same as them", then she'd be told she's the greatest by everyone. Third, most of the guys are ok with a few (you know who) horrible exceptions. Fourth, the way it was written made me not want to continue the story. Is this an emotionally wrought coming together of people or do I just think they whine and are full of themselves... you guess! I demand more plot and characters fully fleshed out that have personalities! Instead it's one or two note people with pretty descriptions attacted to them.
Personal pet peeves Mermaids (if real) would be chubby, just like all creatures in the ocean... like dolphins, whales or manatees. So if Rowena is opposite, then she'd be skinny, not some idealized version of curvy. Also, like fish, they'd be whatever colors work within their environment.
I don't think I will ever pick up a book by this writer unless things greatly improve.
This book was very well written. The characters are developing nicely. I loved the way the story developed and the cliffhanger at the end through me for a total loop! I can't wait for book two to come out.
Sarah out did herself with this story, had me hooked from the first paragraph! I love mermaid stories and I cannot wait for book 2!
I didn't know I was reading an excerpt! Asked and answered "Mistress of the Seven Seas" one clicked! I couldn't put the book down, its brilliantly written and I'm antsy for the next adventure of Rowena...Author Sarah Louise bring it on the next adventure.
This book is about a young girl meeting seven princes for the calling. She is an outcast but is called or mates to all the princes and the gods interfere. This is her meeting the guys. The book is fast paced. I liked reading it but hope a little more detail in the story. I like that this girl can kick butt and is not afraid.
I enjoyed this book it was like ugly duckling and little mermaid put together. Row is a half breed and always treated as an outcast. Then finds out she is to be bonded with 7 prince's and a prophecy. With all that a there is also history causing trouble. How much can this last take. It does leave you on a hanger also to be warned
